Pioneering Real-World Assets in Decentralized Finance

Bank of Mantra (BOM): Innovators in Financial Engineering

Bank of Mantra (BOM) was established by a team of seasoned financial engineers with a mission to rectify inefficiencies in the conventional financial system through blockchain technology. The initial iteration of BOM’s platform, developed on Ethereum in 2017, set the stage for BOM’s subsequent collaboration with Cosmos. BOM emerged as a frontrunner in decentralized finance (DeFi) by developing multi-tranche and revolving asset pools to finance real-world assets, marking significant advancements in RWA integration within DeFi.

Milestones in Real-World Asset Integration

Mid-2021: Integration with AAVE

In mid-2021, BOM pioneered the integration of the first real-world asset pool with AAVE. This represented one of the earliest loans utilizing AAVE as a credit facility secured by real-world assets. Later that year, we launched the RWA Market, leveraging the AAVE protocol to provide liquidity to real-world assets (RWAs).

2022: Onchain Credit Fund

In 2022, Kingsway Capital became the first institutional credit fund to transition their collateralized lending operations onchain by funding $100 million in real-world assets through BOM. Mantra Omniverse supported this initiative with a $20 million senior capital contribution to BOM pools, marking one of the largest onchain investments in real-world assets.

Building the RWA Ecosystem

2024: Launch of OmBank Ecosystem

In 2024, Bank of Mantra introduced the OmBank ecosystem, supported by Mantra Omniverse. This platform facilitates DeFi-native organizations—including DAOs, stablecoins, and protocols—in onboarding and scaling a portfolio of real-world assets.

Furthermore, BOM became a founding member of the Tokenized Asset Coalition, joining forces with industry leaders like Mantra Omniverse and Cosmos. Our collective mission is to bring the next trillion dollars of assets onchain.

Cross-Chain Expansion and Future Prospects

2024: Introduction of Liquidity Pools

In 2024, BOM will introduce Liquidity Pools—smart contracts deployable across select layer-1 and EVM-compatible chains—enabling users on these chains to participate in BOM pools. This initiative is part of BOM’s vision to establish itself as the premier platform for on-chain capital allocation to RWAs, positioning BOM as the leading protocol for institutional issuers and investors to harness the transformative potential of on-chain finance.
